As you can see from the map below that shows the pv power potential of Ireland, the east coast and midlands are great places in Ireland for solar panels. The darker colours along the east coast are the best areas.
If you would like more information about how you could benefit from solar panels just fill in the form you see on this page with your EirCode and we will get back to you.
Like other counties WestMeath has a good track record of using green technologies.
KMK Metals Recycling’s which is headquartered in Tullamore but has a location in Kilbeggan plan to install solar panels to reduce their electricity costs. In the last two years KMK Metals Recycling has made a big effort to become more carbon friendly, having switched to LED lighting, added electric vehicle charging points for employees and visitors, and are now undertaking a massive PV project.
The local county council is certainly doing its bit to encourage uptake in Solar Panels & EV’s. The WestMeath County Council are looking for submissions under the CLAR program that can include applications for funding of Solar Panels on community buildings. PV solar panels erected on community facilities must be generating electricity for a connected electric vehicle charging point. This must be in tandem with the purchase of a hybrid/electric vehicle.
The are not going to stop there, PV panels were planned for council buildings in Mullingar and Athlone once planning permission and SEAI funding are secured, and then they will look to put them in other council facilities.
If you want to find out how much you can save on your electricity bill then add your EirCode to the form you see on this page and we will get back to you. With your EirCode we will be able to do a remote solar survey on your home. With this we will be able to tell you how much electricity you are likely be able to generate with solar panels on your roof.
